Personal profile

Dr Olapeju Ogunmokun is a lecturer and researcher with particular interest in Accounting, Risk and Finance for small businesses at the Leicester Castle Business School, ذكذكتسئµ, Leicester which she joined in 2019. She is a Fellow of the Association of International Accountant FAIA(Acad), a Full Member of the Association of Accounting Technician (MAAT) and an Exam Complete Part-qualified Chartered Accountant (CIMA Adv Dip MA) all of which are reflected in her scholarship and research. Olapeju has a distinction in Accounting and Business Management from Brunel University London, and completed her Ph.D. in Finance, Risk and Entrepreneurship by concurrent publication at ذكذكتسئµ with research focus addressing the constraints on access to finance for small enterprises and risk decision making behaviours.

She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and has substantial experience in coordinating accounting, entrepreneurial finance and business management modules, supervising post graduate research and teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Olapeju is research active and her research interests and expertise centres around finance, risk, decision making behaviour, entrepreneurship, sustainability and she is interested in committed PhD students with similar interests. Dr Olapeju has published book chapters, commissioned reports, peer-reviewed journal articles, presented research papers at various international conferences and co-investigated impactful research projects.

Olapeju is committed to widening and continuing access to impactful education through community engagement and business consultancy. Drawing from her extensive career experience in industry from reputable institutions as an accountant, credit risk analyst and small business owner, Olapeju is keen on enhancing access to finance for small and medium enterprises and minimising the constraints they face in accessing debt finance due to risk perception and biased decision-making behaviours.
