Yoric's PhD looks at the Supporting People programme, that is the Government mechanism for funding and regulating supported housing. He is using theories of policy implementation and the use of policy networks in implementing policy and also the Path Dependency framework as a method to assess the role of time and past policy initiatives in assessing how we got to where we currently are and how past choices have narrowed the conceptual choice set we now have in front of us.
Yoric has completed a web survey of supported housing providers and is currently investigating using Qualitative Comparative Analysis as a technique to analyse this data. Yoric will also be conducting a number of semi-structured interviews with selected providers to gain further qualitative data from which to begin to draw conclusions.
