Personal profile

Angelina completed her higher education studies at Stellenbosch University in which she achieved a PhD in psychology with a research focus on positive psychology. This was followed by a postdoctoral appointment at North-West University, Potchefstroom.

Angelina's research interests involve the understanding of the predictors of psychological well-being and positive mental health within the African context. She has focused on determining how young people in deprived contexts thrive and what positive psychological experiences engender their well-being. Angelina is particularly interested in researching conceptualisations of well-being in Africa in order to develop a contextually relevant theoretical framework for understanding well-being.
