I have worked as Senior Lecturer (Adult Nursing) within the Leicester School of Nursing and Midwifery for the last 16 years. I have experience in teaching, personal tutoring, marking and the leadership and development of clinical and academic nursing modules and curricula, working with undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) pre and post registration nursing students and allied health practitioners. As Senior Lecturer I have worked in a range of academic roles within adult nursing including as Module Lead, Subject Lead and Programme Lead for both national and international Post Registration UG and PG Programmes.
I currently work as Programme Lead for the Post Registration BSc/MSc Professional Clinical Practice Programmes and I also work very closely with UHL as ذكذكتسئµ link Tutor for the Nursing Associate Programme.
Before I worked at ذكذكتسئµ I worked in the NHS and have experience in a variety of clinical, managerial and educational roles including Governance and Quality Manager, Professional Education/Development Lead and Renal Transplant Coordinator. I spent some years working as Donor and Recipient Specialist Transplant Nurse Practitioner at Oxford Radcliffe Trust and as Renal Transplant Ward Sister at the University Hospitals of Leicester. I started my clinical career working as a surgical nurse and then worked with haematology and bone marrow transplant patients.
I enjoy presenting at conferences educationally and I have had experience of External Examining. I currently peer review articles for the Nursing Standard.
My academic interests are: are coaching, leadership, governance, professionalism, accountability, advocacy, organizational culture, surgical and renal nursing.
