Dr Adsley graduated from the University of Bath in 2007 and went on to complete a split pre-registration training between Pfizer Laboratories (Sandwich, Kent) and Alliance Pharmacy.
Following this, Dr Adsley then completed a PhD at the University of Nottingham in the Targeted Therapeutics Doctoral Training Centre. Her research involved synthesising and characterising a variety of polyacrylamide and silica nanoparticles with different charges and functional groups.
She used the nanoscale imaging techniques of Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), Scanning Ion Conductance Microscopy (SICM) and Scanning Surface Confocal Microscopy (SSCM) to visualise the uptake of these nanoparticles into MRC-5 cells.
On completion of her PhD she returned to full time work in community pharmacy, firstly as a relief pharmacist and then as support pharmacist in a large, busy store where she was involved in the provision of many advanced and enhanced services.
One of her key interests during this time was in the training of pharmacy staff towards NVQ qualifications. In November 2017 she joined Leicester School of Pharmacy as a Senior Lecturer in Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacy Practice.
