The Clothworkers' Company Scholarship

Two undergraduate (Contour Fashion BA (Hons)) and two post graduate (MSc/MA Contour Fashion Innovation or MSc Sustainable Textile Technologies) have been funded by the Clothworkers’ Company.  Undergraduate scholars will receive £5,000 per year of study and Postgraduate scholars will received £5,000 for a one year course.

The Clothworkers’ Company mission is to inspire and empower individuals and communities through action, partnership and financial support. founded in 1528, following a merger of The Fullers’ Company and The Shearmen’s Company. One of the ‘Great Twelve Livery Companies’ of the City of London, their original aim was to promote the craft of clothworking, supervise the training of apprentices and welfare of members, and protect standards of workmanship.

  1. Eligibility Criteria

    To be eligible, Undergraduate students must:
    1. Have made ذكذكتسئµ their firm choice for the first year of the Contour Fashion BA (Hons)) undergraduate degree programme in the current academic year (not distance learning)
    2. Be a home/fee paying student — have a UK Student Support Number (English, Scottish, Welsh, and Northern Irish students)
    3. Apply online to be income assessed by Student Finance.
    4. Demonstrate financial need — household income must indicate that students are eligible for means-tested support from Student Finance with a household income of up to and including آ£50,000
    5. Be paying tuition fees under the new tuition fee regime of آ£9,250 or آ£9,535
    6. Be self-funding — your course of study must not be externally funded
    7. Hold no other form of donor or university funded scholarship

    To be eligible, Postgraduate students must:
    1. Have made ذكذكتسئµ their firm choice for either MSc/MA Contour Fashion Innovation or MSc Sustainable Textile Technologies, studying full time
    2. Be a home/fee paying student
    3. Demonstrate financial need
    4. Be self-funding — your course of study must not be externally funded
    5. Hold no other form of donor or university funded scholarship
  2. Terms and Conditions

    1. This scholarship is not transferrable.
    2. The data on your student finance record must meet the award edibility criteria. In order to be able to be fully assessed against the criteria you must:
      1. Have completed your student finance application and it must have been assessed and finalised by your relevant UK student finance authority.
      2. Have signed and returned your student declaration form to the SLC.
      3. Ensure your relevant UK student finance authority record is available to ذكذكتسئµ. Therefore, you must have given permission for your information to be shared with the university.
      4. Ensure that your parents/sponsors have given student finance their permission for their information to be shared with ذكذكتسئµ.
    3. Student records must include bank details in order for the scholarship to be paid, as the scholarship is paid directly into a student's bank account by ذكذكتسئµ. If your student record is not in a position for payment to be made, your payment will be delayed or not made at all.
    4. The scholarship will be paid in instalments in line with ذكذكتسئµâ€™s normal Bursary and Scholarship payment schedule, which is once per term.
    5. Any scholarship payments made by ذكذكتسئµ after a student has interrupted their studies or withdrawn from the university will normally be recovered from the student.
    6. Any scholarship payment made by ذكذكتسئµ in error OR paid as a result of false information submitted will normally be recovered from the student.
    7. If a payment is not received, it is the responsibility of the student to urgently contact the Scholarships Team at ذكذكتسئµ, so that the non-payment can be investigated.

    ذكذكتسئµ reserves the right to revise or amend these eligibility criteria and terms and conditions at any time without prior notice. The information provided above must be used in conjunction with award specific information on our Scholarships.
