Become a mentee
Mentoring can be a valuable tool to provide you with guidance in a defining point in your career. In this programme you will have the opportunity to explore your professional abilities and interpersonal skills to support you into leadership positions. You will be amongst a network of your professional peers and have a platform to share your experiences, ideas, and thoughts.

Eligibility
To be eligible for the scheme you confirm you are:

ذكذكتسئµ graduate (graduates between 2015-2020)

From a black asian minority ethnic background (BAME)
-
Reside in Leicester/Leicestershire
-
Are employed in a skilled graduate job by a Leicester/Leicestershire employer
In addition, mentee's employer will need to:

Agree a meeting via online/telephone with the university to introduce the aims and objectives of the programme and how they can be involved

Consent to completing a survey at the end of the programme to measure how the mentee and organisation have progressed
As this is a funded project it has specific measurable outcomes therefore mentees, mentors and business will be required to complete evaluation measures. Your employer will need to support your decision to participate in mentoring programme and comit to completing a questionnaire.
Stages

1. Application
To get involved and receive mentorship, you will be required to complete an online application form. The information you provide will be used to match you with a mentor.

2. Training
Graduates will be invited to a training and preparation session. This session sets out to provide practical advice and guidance on how you can best prepare for your meetings and how to get the most out of it.

3. Matching
Graduates are then matched with a suitable mentor. Matches are made based on the skills graduates want to develop and the expertise and interests of our mentors.

4. Mentoring meetings
Once matched, graduates and mentors agree a time and date to meet online, this should be once a month through the course of the programme. It is the responsibility of the mentee to set agendas and arrange meetings.

5. Group mentoring
In addition to the one-to-one meeting with your mentors you will also be invited to take part in a group mentoring session. This is an ideal opportunity to meet other mentors and mentees on the programme, explore different perspectives and share thoughts, experiences and ideas.
