Highway changes to Jarrom Street from Wednesday 22 January

The works to construct the new Children’s Hospital at the Leicester Royal Infirmary will now begin on Wednesday 22 January.

During the year-long construction period from Wednesday 22 January 2020 to Sunday 24 January 2021 part of Jarrom Street near the junction with Oxford Street will become a one-way road with drivers permitted to enter Jarrom Street from Oxford Street.

Drivers will not be able to drive onto Oxford Street from Jarrom Street.

Drivers will still be able to access the Main Car Park from Jarrom Steet but will be unable to turn left onto Jarrom Street from Gateway Street when leaving the Main Car Park.

Part of Infirmary Square which adjoins Jarrom Street will also be closed.

While the changes are in place there is likely to be a significant increase in vehicles travelling along Havelock Street from Jarrom Street towards Walnut Street. Drivers may wish to consider using alternative routes when leaving the campus.
