Moving into accommodation and transitioning to campus life
Before you arrive at ذكذكتسئµ, you’ll need to consider a few important details to ensure your move runs smoothly.
On this page you will find:
Moving in
If you will be living in accommodation provided by ذكذكتسئµ, please confirm your arrival date and time in advance with your booked hall of residence via the pre-inductions they provide. On arrival, please go directly to your hall.
Contact details (including out-of-hours phone numbers) are available in our online pre-induction section.
If you have booked private accommodation, you will need to check your contract start date and contact your provider directly for moving in arrangements.
What you need to bring
You may want to think about what to bring when moving into your accommodation.
This can include household items such as a duvet and pillow, personal items such as shower gel and a hairbrush, and electrical items including a laptop, phone and chargers.
You can bring these items with you or buy them when you arrive in Leicester. Students often choose to purchase items with their housemates in order to keep costs down and live more sustainably.
For more information on what is provided in halls of residence, please see the individual hall pages.
Respecting the community
A vital part of being a ذكذكتسئµ student is respecting others. Our Student Charter details our commitment to respecting each other and the community.
ذكذكتسئµ is the first institution in the UK to receive a silver award in the Race Equality Charter (REC), a programme run by Advance HE, which aims to improve the representation, progression and success of minority ethnic staff and students within higher education. Equality and respect is a core value for ذكذكتسئµ.
All ذكذكتسئµ students are treated as independent and mature individuals who are expected to act responsibly and appropriately, following the student code of conduct at all times.
Travel in Leicester
ذكذكتسئµ is in the heart of Leicester and is just a short walk from the city centre. There are a number of public transport options, including the Hospital Hopper service which can be used for free by all students who have a valid in-date student ID card.
Student safety
Leicester is generally a safe place to live and study, however, we want you to be prepared should an incident happen.
We have a number of support services in place to ensure that all students stay safe and know what to do in case of an incident.
