Peter Tansley was appointed an independent governor in November 2019. He Chairs the Audit Committee.
Peter has spent over 25 years of his career in a variety of roles relating to audit, finance, and risk management.
His experience includes over seven years working for the Royal Mail Group as Head of Risk Management and Assurance, and nearly ten years for the BBC, first as the Head of Internal Audit for BBC Commercial Business, and most recently as its Director of Internal Audit and Assurance. Peter is an economics graduate and a professionally qualified accountant and auditor. Peter brings to the Audit Committee a wealth of experience in working within high-profile organisations that face considerable scrutiny from regulators, the media, and the public. As well as audit, finance, and risk management, Peter specialises in advising organisations on a broad range of operational assurance matters, including financial reporting and control, cyber security, project management and business continuity.
