Funding
There are a number of ways you can fund your studies. However the Workforce Development Funded (WDF) provision is restricted to non-medical, professional healthcare staff currently employed to deliver NHS funded healthcare in the East Midlands.
Professional groups that are eligible to access WDF provision include allied health professionals, nurses, midwives and healthcare scientists.
Local workforce teams will have full discretion to prioritise access to WDF funded education in line with their local service needs and to restrict access to non-NHS employed staff if appropriate.
No other staff group and no other employing organisation is eligible for funding under the WDF contract without express written approval by both their local workforce lead and education commissioning manager from Health Education East Midlands on an individual basis.
Education providers will not allow access to post reg provision and CPD at ذكذكتسئµ, unless the application form has been signed by one of the above.
The level of funding available in the current contract year will depend upon the amount of WDF funded places that have already been allocated in the current contract year. This may mean that funding may not be available if contract for places have been filled.
As a general rule, you may be eligible for funding if you are working in the East Midlands and are a:
- NHS employed non-medical, professional healthcare member of staff, or a
- Non-medical professional healthcare member of staff from a voluntary or charitable organisations, a GP practice or selected other independent organisations.
Your eligibility for a funded place is dependent upon two other factors:
- Support from both your appropriate line manager and your own employing organisations’ Education Lead /Workforce Development Fund (WDF) Lead or Learning Beyond Registration (LBR) signatory.
- Prior to completing our ذكذكتسئµ online application form you will have gained approval and have an expression of support for your intended studies from the most appropriate line manager within your directorate/clinical area/workplace. In some clinical practice areas you may be expected to complete your own employers ‘Trust Study Leave Application Form’.
Once you have submitted your online application form, it will be automatically submitted to the Trust you have selected as your funder, for authorisation. Only when approved will the application be sent to the university for processing.
If your application is approved by your line manager and by the lead WDF signatory, we will match your application against the funding that is available in the current contract year. If there is insufficient funding to support your application we will let you know. If this is the case you may have to look at alternative funding routes or resubmit your application in the next contract year (the contract year covers courses that run between 1 April and 31 March).
Self-funding
If you are unable to access a funded contract place there is still opportunity to study one of our Post registration programmes or modules. You may still be able to gain support from your organisation.
