2. Be studying an eligible, full-time course for which the full tuition fees are being charged to you (i.e. for those starting from 2017/18 and onwards; £9250, for those who started in 2014/15, 2015/16, 2016/17; £9,000 or £7,950. £650 (2022) and £1,850 (2023 onwards) for placement students. Fees may be subject to change.
3. Bursaries and scholarships are not available to students whose tuition fees are being paid (in full or partially) by the NHS, Probation Service or any other professional body or any other sponsored students. Discretion may be exercised for Care Leaver and Estranged Student bursaries.
4. If you're starting your first year you must apply for student funding for that academic year within nine months of the start of the course, or within nine months of the start of the academic year if you are a returning student.

6. Scholarships are not available if you have studied in higher education previously. This is a general condition, however, individual circumstances may be considered.
7. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of the qualifications on which the student has gained entry to ذكذكتسئµ (i.e. the qualifications included in the students offer, not other qualifications the student may have studied).
8. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of the year of entry to ذكذكتسئµ not the year of application.
9. Students must be registered on and attending the course when the bursary and/ or scholarship payment is made.
10. Bursaries and scholarships are not normally paid during repeat years of study.

Any bursary or scholarship payment made by ذكذكتسئµ/ Student Loans Company (SLC) after a student has taken a leave of absence from their studies or withdrawn from the university will normally be recovered from the student. Students in receipt of the Estranged Students Bursary should contact the Transitions Team if they are considering taking a leave of absence from their studies or being "registered without attendance".
12. Any bursary or scholarship payment made by ذكذكتسئµ/ SLC in error OR paid as a result of false information submitted will normally be recovered from the student.
13. Students who may be eligible for the Care Leavers Bursary or the Estranged Students Bursary should contact the Transitions Team via the Student Gateway, as these bursaries are not automatically awarded.
14. The Care Leavers and Estranged Students bursaries are normally paid each year of the course.
15. lf a payment is not received, it is the responsibility of the student to contact the Student Finance and Welfare team at ذكذكتسئµ as soon as possible, so that the non-payment can be investigated. Please see point 17 below.
16. As a general rule academic-related scholarships (i.e. Access Scholarship) are not available during placement years. However, the following students will be eligible for the scholarship payments while on placements:
- Students on a Erasmus Year (at a university or on a work placement).
- Students on an unpaid (and non-bursaried) work placement.
17. The deadline for the approval and payment of bursaries and scholarships is normally the end of the summer term. For the 2024/25 academic year this will be 13 June 2025. Normally no further awards will be made after this date. Please note: do NOT leave any queries about non-payment until the deadline, as it may take time to investigate and resolve your query.
18. Bursaries and scholarships are normally paid directly into a student's bank account by the SLC on behalf of ذكذكتسئµ. Therefore, you must provide SFE/SLC with your bank details.
19. As referred to in point 5, your SFE/SLC record must be in a position for the scholarship and/or bursary allocation to be made and then paid. This means that the following criteria must have been met:

21. Payments are triggered via ذكذكتسئµ returning a positive registration and attendance confirmations at the relevant points. This process is carried out automatically on your behalf. Students whose SFE/SLC record is not in a position to have their attendance confirmed will experience a delay in payment.
