To mark the United Nations (UN) International Day of Persons with Disabilities, ذكذكتسئµ will be illuminating Trinity House in purple, on Sunday 3 December.
International Day of Persons with Disabilities has been marked by the UN since 1992 and raises awareness of people with disabilities, as well as advocating for their dignity and rights, while increasing understanding of disability issues.
To celebrate International Day of Persons with Disabilities, #PurpleLightUp is a global movement that celebrates and raises awareness of the economic contribution made by the 386 million disabled employees around the world.
Leanne Herbert, co-chair of the DisAbility and Wellbeing Network (DAWN), said: “Work and study can be challenging for people with disabilities, medical conditions, learning differences and mental health conditions.
“ذكذكتسئµ’s DisAbility and Wellbeing Network is participating by lighting up the outside of Trinity House in purple, to raise awareness of disability in the staff and student community and to recognise the positive contribution disabled people make to society as a whole.”
